Emergency Amendments to Drug Control Program and First Responder (FR) Training Regulations for FR Use of Naloxone (Narcan)

The Public Health Council today approved emergency amendments to both the Department’s Drug Control Program Regulations and First Responder Training Regulations, to authorize first responder agencies and their personnel to carry and use, naloxone (Narcan). The emergency amendments have been filed with the Secretary of State’s office, and are effective today. In addition, the Department has issued an updated version of Administrative Requirement (A/R) 2-100, Minimum Standards for First Responder Training for First Aid, Epinephrine Auto-Injector and Naloxone Use, which is also effective today.
